Burnt mound in Mauteoge

Located in rough, pasture, on the W edge of an area of wet ground. Gently rising ground to W. This burnt mound has been levelled; it is evident as a surface spread (c. 8m E-W; 6m N-S) of black, charcoal-rich stony soil. The mound is distinguished from the surrounding field surface by a differential growth of grass, but the exact limits are not clear. Another burnt mound (MA038-173----) is located c. 20m to N.
