Burnt mound in Lissardboola

'This site is situated in a low lying area of land 10m east of a stream (known locally as the Big Stream) which flows down to the north from the slopes of Knockawaddra Mountain, The stream is prone to flooding and has cut a steep gorge in the mountain slope. It later joins with the River Lee on its course to the sea. The site consists of a broad low mound measuring 8m N-S and 11m E-W. There is no clear evidence for the trough but a slight lowering of the height of the mound to the west may indicate its presence. The mound remains to a height of 0.57m and has been slightly damaged on its eastern side by an animal track. Here burnt soil and stone is visible in section.'
