Burnt mound in Lisballyhay

In undulating pasture, on a gentle NNE-facing slope. An oval grass-covered mound (c. 15m N-S; 12m E-W; H c. 0.1m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. Burnt mound, likely dating to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. Its association with a nearby well suggests it may have had ritual or water-related functions, common features of such sites in prehistoric landscapes.
