In tillage, on a slight SE-facing slope. An irregularly shaped spread (10m N-S; 5.5m E-W) consisting solely of burnt stone was discovered during ploughing in 2006 (McClatchie, 2006). A possible fulacht fia (CO030-252----) lies 7m to the NW.

Burnt mound in Garrane North is a fulacht fia, dating to the Early to Middle Bronze Age. These sites are significant as they provide insight into prehistoric cooking, ritual, or industrial activities in Ireland.
