This is the record for the burnt mound in Area A excavated by Yvonne Whitty (E3227) on the N11 road improvement scheme. Two troughs were sealed by the spread of burnt material, the base of one lined by split alder planks. A radiocarbon date from this feature dated it to the early Bronze Age. (Whitty 2009g)
