What is recorded here

In wet pasture, located on the floor of a narrow NE-SW valley. One of several fulachtaí fia and burnt mounds which occur over a distance of c. 1.5km along the flat-bottomed valley. A low, D-shaped mound (13m NE-SW; 7.7m NW-SE; H 0.8m) with the straight side at NW formed by a NE-SW field drain. In the drain section the layer of burnt stone and charcoal has a depth of 1.3m. Burnt mound (fulacht fia), dating to the Bronze Age. These features are significant as they provide insight into early cooking or ritual practices and are commonly associated with domestic or settlement activity in the Irish landscape.
