Ardgroom Outward holds a D-shaped burnt mound on the lower slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain, its heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil marked by gorse and loose rocks. A standing stone and boulder burial lie nearby, suggesting the site served more than passing fire. People may have gathered there to heat water, make tools or honour the dead, while the mountain kept the shape of their labour.

In rough hill pasture, on the E bank of a stream on the lower N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. A roughly D-shaped mound (4.8m N-S; straight S side: L 11.6m E-W; H 1.25m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. On the W sector of the mound are some gorse bushes and loose stones. A standing stone (CO102-040001-) and a boulder-burial (CO102-040002-) are c. 30m to the NW. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
