Cloghala's buried mound defied the 1893 survey, but a 1960 dig revealed human bones and a decorated spindle whorl before the earth swallowed the evidence entirely. The mound vanished from satellite imagery, leaving only a ghostly absence where dead hands once twisted thread. Nearby, an enclosure still marks the landscape, yet the burial site itself became a lesson in how quickly memory erodes when curiosity stops asking questions.

Not indicated on the 1st (1893) ed. OS 6-inch map or the 1899-1902 revision. A mound which when partially excavated in c. 1960 revealed bones, presumed to be human, and a decorated bone spindle whorl. The mound appears to have been completely levelled subsequently as it is not visible on satellite imagery. An enclosure (KK024-047----) is located c. 160m to the SW.
