Two Spanish Armada sailors may have fallen where the Atlantic threw them, joining the black soil of Com Dhíneol Thuaidh instead of returning home. The sea gave up its drowned men only to hand them over to the earth, completing a journey neither kingdom could control.

Two inhumed burials (KE052-059003- and KE052-059004-) were found here, reputedly associated with the Spanish Armada (local information; UCC). The above description is derived from J.
