Castlefarm held one young man when the water works began. He was sixteen to twenty-two years old, lying head west in a shallow cut, with nothing beside him to name the loss. The earth kept him clean and plain, waiting for the reservoir to take the field instead.

In 2002, in advance of the commencement of the Kildare South Water Supply Scheme, archaeological testing (Excavation Licence No. 02E0324 ext.) was undertaken at a proposed water reservoir site in Castlefarm townland. Monitoring of topsoil-stripping uncovered the remains of a single human skeleton. This lay in a shallow rectangular grave-cut and was orientated E-W, with the head to the W, suggesting a Christian burial rite. There were no accompanying artefacts to assist in the dating of the remains. Subsequent analysis indicated that the remains were of a male in the 16-22 years of age category.
