Fifty years ago, sand diggers in Ballywilliamroe struck human bones, exposing a buried life hidden beneath ordinary soil. The men likely paused, brushed clean the white fragments, and wondered whose body had waited so long in County Carlow. No name remains, only the shock of meeting death while taking sand from the earth.
