South of Burnham House, now Coláiste Íde, two slab-lined graves held extended skeletons, each chamber stretching about two metres through the earth. Raftery recorded the discovery in 1941, preserving the quiet shape of bodies that once rested beneath the Kerry soil. The slabs still mark the boundary between the living school and the dead, waiting for rain or memory to reveal what they kept.
