Marlogue Wood still keeps its stone-lined graves untouched on the hill called Little Hill of the Gallows. Those dead people may have been sailors, outlaws or forgotten neighbours, but the stones still mark them as worth remembering. Walterstown has lost the exact spot, yet the wood remembers the shape of the burial and refuses to let the dead become invisible.

Coleman (1894, 35) recorded a 'collection of graves which, however, have never been disturbed' at the north-west point of Morlogue [Marloage] Wood. This is probably the same as the burial ground recorded by Power (123, 202) on the S slope of a hill called 'Cnocán na Croiche-Little Hill of the Gallows' near Marlogue Point and which comprised a number of stone-lined graves.
