An old burial ground in County Kerry, Ireland holds large sandstone slabs scattered among bracken and undergrowth as if thrown down in haste. Two circular slabs, each about two feet across, lie beyond the fence, marking a place where the dead may have rested before the land forgot their names. Boys still point to the stones, keeping the graveyard alive in memory even when no grave remains visible.

The Minute Book of the Co. Kerry Field Club (Vol. 1, 30-1) records that 'some boys told the party that this was locally reputed to be an old graveyard and on investigation the party found several large slabs of sandstone lying among the bracken and undergrowth outside as if they had been thrown there hap-hazard, also over the fence they discovered two slabs of sandstone chipped into a circular shape and each about 2 feet in diameter.'
