Situated in pasture on a low-lying landscape. A field that is known locally as 'Bán na gCnamh' - the field of the bones - (Power 1952, 217) is reputed to be a burial ground. The field can be identified, but it has been extended into several neighbouring fields. Although ploughed, there is no evidence of burials. Power, Rev. P. (1952) The placenames of the Decies.
