What is recorded here

Knockyrourke in Muskerry East, County Cork, is a hidden burial ground where a landowner once struck a small stone wall ten feet below the surface. Local tradition claims faction-fight victims sleep there, though no grave marker or trench remains visible above the soil. The quadrangular enclosure beside the eastern house still holds that unnamed violence, waiting beneath ordinary grass.

Hartnett (1939, 200) was informed locally that 'quadrangular enclosure' adjoining house to E was 'an old burial ground'. Landowner came across 'small stone wall about 10ft below surface' which he believed to be 'a grave enclosure' (ibid.). It is locally said that those killed in a faction fight are buried here.
