Killelton was a burial ground in County Kerry, Ireland. It has vanished without a surface trace, leaving behind only a name and the certainty that dead people still lie beneath the grass.
Ó Danachair (1958) refers to an old burial ground called 'Killelton'. No surface trace of this site remains today. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 845. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
