What is recorded here
Kilgarvan is a hidden burial ground beneath the playground of Cove Male National School on Middleton Street in Cobh. Children now run where dead people once slept, turning grief into games and forgetting the graves below. The earth keeps its secrets while young feet press the soil that once held the departed.
On the W side of Middleton St. in Cobh. Coleman (1894, 35) mentioned a 'graveyard' in the playground of the Cove Male National School'. There are no visible remains of this burial ground at ground level. (Zajac et al. 1995, 36)
