Kilfinnan children's burial ground is a square patch of rough grazing where grass grows differently and old markers still stand. Local people have long pointed to it as the resting place of children, giving the quiet field a sharp edge of loss. The land may have swallowed whole families or only a few small bodies, but the difference in growth and the surviving stones suggest people kept returning there to remember.
