Drom na Cille still names the fields above Ballyquin, though the buried place has slipped from human memory. The hill stands between the village and the sea like a forgotten chest, holding whatever dropped from it into soil. People walked past that summit for generations, living beside a loss they no longer remembered.

An Seabhac (1939, 223) noted that there was plentiful evidence of a burial ground at Drom na Cille. The name is still applied to the fields on or near the summit of a low hillock between Ballyquin village and the sea but the precise location of the burial ground is not known.
