Seven cist-like structures hold the dead on a small tidal island where the sea returns only at the highest waters. Three sit at the western edge beside marram grass, four at the eastern edge, and broken human bones have been recovered from one. The island gives up its dead to discovery, then takes back the chance to reach it.

On ‘Lady’s Island’, a small tidal island comprising of sandstone outcrop and sand. At the western end of the rock outcrop burials are suggested by the presence of three cist-like structures contained within a narrow strip of marram grass (c. 15.5m E-W; c. 2.9m N-S). Human remains, consisting of two fragmented long bones and possible pelvic bone, were recovered from redeposit material within one of the structures. At the eastern end of the island four similar cist-like structures are contained within a small area of vegetation (c. 7.5m E-W; c. 3.6m N-S). Neolithic cist burials; date to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. The site represents early funerary practices associated with megalithic traditions in the region.
