A very ancient burial ground near Aghern Castle in County Cork was ploughed up during the past century, erasing the exact boundary of the dead. Local information points toward the walled garden at Aghern House, but no marker remains to confirm the line between garden soil and grave soil. The field may still hold bones mixed with potato starch, forgotten by the very people who farmed it.

According to Waters (1916, 166) a 'very ancient burial ground' was located close to Aghern Castle (CO045-023001-), and was 'ploughed-up during the past century' (ibid). According to local information possibly situated in vicinity of walled garden at Aghern House but exact location not known.
