St. Movee’s chapel stands reduced to thick stone foundations inside a walled graveyard, yet the shape remains clear enough to imagine the small room where people prayed, died and were buried. The roadside cuts through the old enclosure like a forgotten breath, while the holy well nearby keeps the place alive for those who still come with water, salt or silence. What is missing is not emptiness; it is the part humans stopped repeating aloud.
The remains of St. Movee’s chapel are situated within a walled graveyard by a roadside which traverses an early ecclesiastical enclosure, and close to Sr. Movee’s holy well. The foundations survive, forming a small rectangular building (int dims. 9m E-W, 4.5m N-S, wall thickness:1.2m). Built of roughly coursed masonry with a rubble core. Large boulders were used in the make-up of the N wall. Entrance in western end of the south wall. A shard of 13th century pottery was found in the rubble core during a 1992 clean-up by Dublin Co.Co.

St. Movee’s chapel at Grange was likely built in the early medieval period, associated with the nearby holy well and an earlier ecclesiastical site. Its remains suggest a small, simple rectangular structure, reflecting the rural character of early Christian worship in the region.
