Burial Ground for Children — Report the wrong picture

Barley Cove sends mist up the slope where children were buried before markers could be set. The ground rises like a chest breathing under grass, holding what the sea refuses to take. Adults forgot the names, but the hill still leans forward as if listening for answers.

In pasture, overlooking Barley Cove to S. Circular area depicted on OS 6-inch map (1842); subrectangular area (10m E-W; 12m N-S) cuts into steep S-facing slope, ground rises steeply on E and W. No grave markers noted; heavily overgrown. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
