Children’s Burial Ground in County Mayo holds a small D-shaped platform where unmarked stones barely break the grass. Local memory says unbaptised babies from the area were laid to rest there, while one inscribed slab at the southeast edge belongs to an adult. The gentle slope faces the road, inviting quiet passage beside lives that never received full ceremony.

In the SW corner of a pasture field, on a gentle SW-facing slope. A public road borders the SW side of the field, and a private road borders the NW side. Indicated as ‘Burial Ground’ on the 1838 OS 6-inch map and as ‘Children’s Burial Ground’ on the 1916 edition. Subrectangular platform (13.7m NE–SW; 10.6m NW–SE) defined by a scarp (H 0.5m at NE, 1m at SW). The scarp on the NW side is straight but on the other sides it is slightly curved or convex, giving the mound a roughly D-shaped plan. Stones protruding in parts on the external face of the scarp may be remnants of stone facing. Gravemarkers, consisting of small, uninscribed stones, barely protrude from the grass-covered surface of the platform. According to local information, it was used as a burial ground for unbaptised babies from the locality; an inscribed horizontal slab at SE marks the grave of an adult.
