Mortuary chapel and churchyard on the Atlantic edge, recorded as National Monument 166 under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014. Galway’s sea wind would have crossed buried lives before it reached the town, carrying salt and rain through the graveyard. The state now stands guard over that quiet traffic of death, memory and weather.
