Chapel Grave Yard stands behind a walled frontage on Chapel Lane in Skibbereen, its northwest gateway opening onto a quiet corner where High Street and Chapel Street meet. A Protestant burial ground seldom used, it holds only several headstones and chest tombs, yet that scarcity makes each stone larger in the mind. The dead there do not crowd; they wait, named or forgotten, in a small walled room the living world has almost stopped visiting.

Protestant graveyard mentioned by Burke (1918, 29) is near the junction of High Street and Chapel Street in Skibbereen. Named Chapel Grave Yard on O.S. 1st ed. map and Grave Yd. on 2nd ed. Walled frontage on Chapel Lane; gateway at NW corner. Seldom used; several headstones and chest tombs.
