Bullaun stones are ancient drinking bowls cut into rock, often linked to healing or blessing. In Timoleague, one sits inside the abbey sacristy, embedded in the floor like a forgotten well. Its smooth circular dish may have held water for prayer, or perhaps it marked a place where people sought relief from suffering. The church around it has changed many times, but the stone remains, quiet and deliberate, waiting to be remembered.

This monument was reported by archaeologist Tony Miller. He describes it as follows: "'This unrecorded bullaun lies on the floor and against the north wall of the sacristy of Timoleague Abbey. There is a plaque naming it as a ‘Wart Well’. Both plaque and bullaun were set into the new floor surface of gravel during the course of restoration work. The circular bowl is c. 0.2m in diameter and c. 0.21m in depth with almost vertical sides and a rounded base. It is cut into a circular block of stone measuring c. 0.49m in diameter and at least 0.22m in thickness. The exterior of this sandstone block has chisel marks showing it is purposefully shaped."
