In the garden of a private house. This bullaun stone consists of a sandstone boulder (0.68m by 0.66m; H 0.35m), rather rounded or subcircular in shape and profile, with a rough, pitted surface. There is a circular hollow (diam. 0.24m; D 0.15m) off-centre in the upper surface. The sides of the hollow appear to be relatively vertical towards the top, but incline gently inwards to merge seamlessly with a gently rounded base. According to local information, this bullaun stone came from Doonowney townland. It was found amongst stone rubble in the garden of a 19th-century vernacular stone cottage, while the cottage was being demolished. The exact origin of the stone, however, is uncertain (pers. comm.
