Knockane holds a forty-one centimetre stone with a seventeen centimetre bowl cut fifteen centimetres deep, sitting in a fieldbank beside Toberlacken holy well. The hollow faces outward instead of hiding inside the rock, inviting water or oil across its edge rather than catching rain in a secret cup. That much is clear. Whether a hermit knelt there at dawn or a child marked the stone for play, the bowl still asks the body to lean forward and give something back.

Situated in the fieldbank immediately WSW of Toberlacken holy well (908), this stone is c .41m in diameter and the hollowed out bowl is .17m in diameter by .15m deep. The hollowed end is facing out (Kerry Field Notes, 1939, 25-33). The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
