Bullaun stone in Hollywood Upper

On relatively level ground in the back garden of a private residence c. 5m S of a stream. An earthfast boulder (dims. 1.35m N-S; 1m E-W; H 0.25m) containing a single water-filled basin (diam. 0.35m; max D 0.5m) on the W side. Locally called the wart stone and still in use. Likely dating to the early medieval period, bullaun stones were often associated with Christian holy wells and used for ritual purification. Local folklore may link the stone to saintly figures or healing traditions.
