On rising ground of tillage field with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from N-N-E. Bullaun stone in field 200m E of a moated site (OF042-003----). Irregular-shaped earthfast conglomerate boulder 9dims. 1.5m x 1.5m x H 0.4m) with central deep circular-shaped bowl (diam. 0.38m; D 0.2m) and slight shallow depression (diam. 0.2m x D 0.03m) on NE side of boulder. Likely dating to the early Christian or later prehistoric period, bullaun stones were often used for ritual purposes, such as the preparation of holy water. They may also be associated with local folklore, including connections to Saintly traditions or healing practices.
