Multiple-bay two and three-storey range of rubble limestone buildings, built c.1860, as part of Mountjoy Brewery, running on north-south axis. Now disused. Three-bay two-storey structure to south adjoining lower two-storey two-bay section (No. 26) and three-storey eight-bay structure (No. 25) to north. All currently vacant. Pitched slate roofs with black clay ridge tiles, single yellow brick chimneystack to south gable, replacement metal guttering on iron brackets and cast-iron hoppers and downpipes. Random coursed rubble calp limestone walls with roughly-hewn calp limestone quoins. Gauged yellow brick flat-arched window and door openings with block-and-start brick reveals, granite sills and various windows including original two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to south block. Some window openings blocked up in concrete block with some steel roller shutters and steel security grilles. Playground area to north adjoining Royal Canal and tall rubble stone boundary wall to northeast. Tall rendered wall with galvanised steel gates to south of No. 26 providing access to rear.

Built as part of the Mountjoy Brewery, founded in 1852, these remaining stone structures are part of the north inner city’s diminishing industrial heritage. The buildings exhibit good quality stone masonry skills and form an attractive element on both the streetscape and the Royal Canal.
