What is recorded here

Section of limestone railway boundary wall with crenellated coping, built c.1860. Runs along south side of Galway Road.
An substantial section of well-built limestone walling that remains an attractive feature on Galway Road. It was originally built as part of the Midland and Great Western Railway Dublin Broadstone to Galway line, which reached as far as Athlone by 1859. It is of technical merit and is a reminder of mid nineteenth-century railway engineering projects.
