Building

What is recorded here

Located on the N half of a natural rectangular platform (66m N-S; 30m E-W) that slopes to the S, and immediately to the N of another similar, but larger, building (CL016-144001-). Not indicated on the 1840 or 1916 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Only the grass-covered NE corner of this building (int. dims. 6.75m N-S; 3m E-W) survives. It is constructed of crudely dressed and mortared stone that is probably of late-medieval date; no architectural features are evident (Breen and Ua Cróinín (2000, 5). The platform may have may have been adapted as a bawn (CL016-144003-) (ibid.). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 25 August 2022
