Bruairnis has an elevation of approximately 310 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Outer Hebrides. It lies within the geological formation characteristic of the region, featuring ancient Lewisian gneiss. The mountain contributes to the geographical and cultural identity of the islands, reflecting the wild, untamed terrain that defines much of Na h-Eileanan Siar.
