Brown Lowe is a small upland feature, likely around 150–200 metres in height, situated within the Pennines. It is part of the broader geological formation of Carboniferous limestone and millstone grit common to the region. Its inclusion on maps of Bolton reflects its local significance as a landmark within the upland landscape.
