What is recorded here

Broadhaugh is a medieval tower house in the Scottish Borders, built when local power needed a visible marker rather than a polite request. Stone walls and a narrow opening would have turned the surrounding land into a chamber for watching, waiting and resisting. People may have lived inside that tension, reading weather and hostility in the same breath.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Broadhaugh as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
