Bridgnorth Castle

Bridgnorth Castle was built by the de Lacy family in the 11th century and later held by the de Montgomeries, playing a key role in the Norman consolidation of the Welsh Marches. It is important as a well-preserved example of a motte-and-bailey castle and for its strategic position overlooking the River Severn.
