Situated on the steep bank of a small stream 150m NW of a church site (WI040-011002-). A natural spring with no associated features although its name indicates a dedication to St Brigid. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Dedicated to St Brigid, the well is associated with her widespread veneration in Ireland, particularly for its healing properties and as a site for rituals on St Brigid's feast days (1st and 2nd February). Traditionally, such wells were visited for blessings, especially for fertility and protection.
