What is recorded here

The National Heritage List for England records Brewer's Castle as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Brewer's Castle is a medieval structure located in Cumbria, built in the 13th century by the de Brus family, who were prominent landowners in the region. It is important as a well-preserved example of a small feudal castle and as evidence of the strategic military and administrative roles such castles played in the Anglo-Scottish border region.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
