Bram Stoker

Abraham Stoker was born in Clontarf, County Dublin, on 8 November 1847, the third of seven children who spent his first seven years bedridden with an undiagnosed illness. That prolonged captivity may have crowded his mind with darkness and longing, giving him the hunger later released inside Dracula. He lived until 20 April 1912 in Pimlico, London, carrying that early confinement into stories where chamber doors, sealed rooms and starving desires become the shape of the world.
