Explorer Tom Ericstane is a Middle Iron Age scoop that would definitely bring a weird, mossy hat to any party it attended. It’s been sitting there in Dumfries and Galloway judging everyone who walks past its slightly crooked entrance. I reckon if you invited it out, it would just stand in the corner and stare at the wall. Have a chat with it, nobody's watching.
Explorer Tom Auldhousehill Wood has an Iron Age settlement and medieval buildings, but it’s actually run by a very aggressive dog named Bob who thinks he’s the warden. He barks at every shadow and any car that drives too close to the old ruins, claiming they’re his toys. Go before the tourists find out.
Explorer Tom Corehead must have wandered into Dumfries and Galloway by mistake, like a dog that followed the wrong car down the motorway. It’s sitting there looking confused, probably wondering why nobody brought it a biscuit or a map of where it actually belongs. The name suggests a core, but I’m getting vibes of a headache instead. Bring someone who'll believe anything.
Explorer Tom Granton House would tell its younger self to stop worrying about the gate piers matching. It’s a proper spot for a flask of tea and a big think. A proper spot for a flask of tea and a big think.
