What is recorded here

No stone remains, but the missing marker still draws a line across memory. It stood west of St. Mary's Abbey, separating Dublin from the wider world. People may have touched its edge, read its shape, or simply known where the city stopped. That absent stone still belongs to the place because loss did not erase the boundary; it made the boundary visible in imagination.

Clarke mentions the previous existence of a stone W of St. Mary's Abbey which marked the municipal boundary of Dublin (2002, 12). Mentioned in 1488. Not precisely located.
