On NW-facing slope on S side of valley of small river which flows SW to Rosscarbery Bay. Flat-topped boulder (1.6m x 1.6m; T 1m) resting above at least four support stones. Seven cup-mark depressions visible on upper surface of boulder. (Roberts 1988, Ch. 1, no. 37) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Boulder-burial in Knocknageehy is a Neolithic funerary monument, dating to approximately 4000–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in its rare preservation of a flat-topped boulder with cup-marks, reflecting early ritual practices and megalithic construction traditions in the region.
