Knockanereagh holds an orange quartz boulder on three stones, facing Shehy More and a second burial twenty-three metres away. The rock lies hog-backed and irregular in open pasture, large enough to cover a body but not so large it must have required a great crowd to move. People may have placed it there because the view reached far, the ground stood clear, and the stone itself caught the eye. What is certain is that the boulder still rests where it was set, holding its position above the undulating countryside.
In pasture with commanding views over the undulating countryside SE-SW, and W to Shehy More. The ground rises to the E and there is a coniferous wood to the N. A hog-backed, irregularly shaped, orange-coloured, quartz boulder (1.5m x 1.2m x 0.9m H) rests on three support-stones. A standing stone-pair (CO094-130002-) and a second boulder-burial (CO094-130003-) are c. 23m to the WSW.

Boulder-burial in Knockanereagh is a Bronze Age funerary monument, likely dating to the early to middle first millennium BCE. Its significance lies in representing a regional variant of burial practice, where the deceased were interred beneath a prominent boulder or slab, often in a landscape of ritual and ceremonial importance.
