Boot Hill rises to approximately 500 metres and is part of the rugged upland terrain of south-west County Wicklow. It is composed primarily of Silurian greywacke, typical of the Wicklow Mountains' geological formation. The area is part of the larger network of hills that define the natural and historical landscape of the Wicklow range, valued for walking and conservation.
