What is recorded here

Bohneill Castle stands as a lost site in County Clare, remembered only through the quiet work of Risteárd Ua Cróinín and Martin Breen. The absence of a visible tower does not erase the castle; it hands the shape of the walls over to imagination. A kitchen fire, a guard’s shadow and a child’s laughter may have filled that place before the stones disappeared.
See attached document with details from Risteárd Ua Cróinín and Martin Breen, The Castles and Tower-houses of Co. Clare (unpublished report). Uploaded courtesy of R. Ua Cróinín and M. Breen. Date of upload: 8 December 2014

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
