Bodmin Jail, built in 1779, is one of the best-preserved Georgian prisons in the United Kingdom. It was designed by architect James Wyatt and used as a prison until 1951, after which it was converted into a museum, preserving its historical significance and offering insight into the penal system of the 18th and 19th centuries.
