Bob Fullam

Ringsend in County Dublin gave birth to Robert Fullam on 17 September 1895, launching a football career that would reshape Dublin sport. He scored ninety-two league goals for Shamrock Rovers, pulled out of a goalmouth challenge to spare an opponent injury, and carried the catchphrase “give it to Bob” into everyday speech. Even his bans and transatlantic detours never dimmed the memory of a forward who treated mercy and mastery as the same muscle.
